The Metro City stands at 8 Mau Yip Road in Po Lam, and this minimalist interior design shapes a compact flat with a saleable area of around 441 sq ft. The aim was a bright, spacious feel that still serves everyday needs with contemporary style. White walls, wood flooring and light and dark timber-effect finishes form the material palette, tightened by stone-effect worktops and black details.
TV console and window desk
In the living room, a floating white TV console with a timber-effect top, curved at one end, leaves the wall almost bare. Beside the dining table, a long desk runs along the window with white cabinets below and two timber shelves above for books, while a single pendant serves both dining and reading. A padded bench sits against the wall, an artwork above the sofa anchors the room, and a lit recess at the ceiling edge glows warmly towards evening.
Timber kitchen and entrance niche
The kitchen follows a U-shaped layout, with timber-effect base units, white wall cabinets and vertically laid white tiles. Marble-effect and dark speckled worktops are practical to keep, and a black tap and sink echo the darker tones. Lighting beneath the wall cabinets washes the worktop, and the washing machine is built into the run. In the entrance corridor, a timber-lined niche with a recessed spotlight displays a plant, beside a black-framed glass door that keeps the passage open to light.
A small flat needs no excess; each piece of joinery handles both storage and proportion. Timber warmth and white openness balance one another, carrying a single material language from entrance to living room.
