What is the background and design philosophy of Clay Interior?
Founded in Hong Kong in 2020 by a team of designers, Clay Interior designs residential, commercial and show-flat spaces for clients in Hong Kong and overseas. Our philosophy, 'Minimal yet Warm', balances aesthetics, function and everyday living.
Baguio Villa What services do you provide?
Our services cover concept design, space planning, material selection, lighting design, furniture layout and project delivery. Our work includes homes, offices, retail spaces, show flats, HOS properties and children’s rooms.
Lockhart Centre How much does a renovation cost?
It depends on the scope. A full package of design, renovation works and custom joinery costs about HK$1,100 to HK$1,200 per square foot of saleable area; a flat of 500 sq ft saleable area, for example, comes to about HK$550k to HK$600k. Works only or joinery only costs considerably less. The final figure depends on the flat’s condition, materials, custom joinery and any layout or services changes, and is set by a detailed quote after a free site measurement.
Dragons Range How do you maintain transparency in quotations and budgets?
Before signing, clients receive a detailed quotation specifying unit rates and dimensions, together with a material budget sheet. Every cost is clear before work begins.
Who supervises construction quality and progress?
Our design-led approach places communication, quality supervision and progress management with the design team. Clients do not need to manage contractors directly; the team coordinates design and construction details.
How are progress updates and communication managed?
Following an internal handover, each project has a dedicated WhatsApp group. ClickUp shares progress checklists and quality inspections.
How are inspections and aftercare arranged?
Each project has a defined Practical Completion Date and a two-stage inspection process. A 12-month maintenance period follows handover, with rectification set out in advance and the team coordinating any follow-up.
What experience does your construction team have?
We work with a long-standing construction team experienced in residential projects in Mid-Levels, the Southern District and other areas. We place particular emphasis on craftsmanship, construction quality and faithful implementation of the design.
Double Cove How do you use AI, VR and AR in the design process?
We use artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to support design. Style guides and physical samples help clients understand spatial proportions, design direction and material texture.
Has the studio received design awards or certifications?
The studio has not yet received formal design awards or certifications. We build client trust through our work, transparent quotations, material budget planning and design-led construction supervision.
Can I visit the studio to view materials and projects?
Our studio is at Room 801, Block A, Sun Fung Centre, 88 Kwok Shui Road, Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, with more than 3,000 square feet of usable space and a library of materials and reference projects. Visits can be arranged via WhatsApp or email to explore materials and completed work in person.
