Mayfair By The Sea 8 sits at 1 Science Park Road in Pak Shek Kok, Tai Po, and the interior design of this flat of around 694 sq ft is set in a minimalist style. The estate entrance is lined with greenery, and inside the flat, full-height glazing draws the trees into view. Our aim was to reorganise the space within a limited floor area, using considered materials and clean lines to meet daily needs while balancing a sense of space with practicality.
Kitchen cabinetry and storage
The kitchen runs in an L, with dark timber-veneer cabinetry and marble-effect wall tiles. The sink sits beneath the window, where two narrow panes bring daylight to the work zone. Tall units on one side carry high-gloss doors that bounce light around, so the long, narrow kitchen never feels cramped. Pale stone-effect floor tiles contrast with the dark timber, and recessed downlights fill in the light. Inside the drawers, metal dividers organise cutlery, keeping the worktop beside the hob clear and the cooking route short and direct.
Glazing and the bathroom
In the room shown, a floor-to-ceiling window takes the lead, with the greenery outside as its backdrop; pale timber-effect flooring and white walls are left unadorned so the view becomes the focus. The bathroom pairs marble-effect wall tiles with a bathtub and toilet, and the clean combination of stone-effect surfaces and white sanitaryware carries the minimalist language through.
The design relies on layout and material choices rather than ornament, keeping the flat harmonious and aesthetically balanced within its clean lines.
