Kam Chun Court, Block D Flat 6, sits at 150 Ma On Shan Road in Ma On Shan, with a saleable area of around 418 sq ft. The interior design takes light luxury as its central theme. To answer the constraints typical of a compact flat, we worked from material selection through to layout, threading stone-effect surfaces, pale timber and black detailing through every corner.
Dining area and entrance
By the door, an entrance cabinet with a stone-effect top sits against black vertical slats, with lighting tucked beneath the cabinets above. The dining area pairs a black table with deep navy velvet chairs. Opposite, the wall is built from grey stone-effect panels, their joints traced with light, and the same finishes carry on to the TV wall and its low floating cabinet. A black-framed reeded-glass door screens the kitchen while letting light through.
Kitchen and bedroom
The L-shaped kitchen wraps marble-effect worktops and walls in one continuous surface, set off by a black tap and black sink, with timber base units to warm the palette. In the bedroom, a marble-effect wall forms the headboard, flanked by pale timber panelling, while a sliding wardrobe in black frames and tinted glass fills the opposite side. A window bed with a desk beside it makes use of the bay. The bathroom follows suit: a marble-effect worktop, a white vessel basin, a black tap and a curved mirror.
In closing
A short list of materials, repeated with care, becomes a style. At 418 sq ft, the flat holds up to a close look, in keeping with CLAY Interior’s design philosophy.
