Kam Chun Court, Block A Flat 1, sits at 150 Ma On Shan Road in Ma On Shan, with a saleable area of around 488 sq ft. CLAY Interior designed the flat in a minimalist style, using pale timber, white and black accents to balance spatial feel, practicality and aesthetics, and to create a home that is both comfortable and stylish.
Study shelving and desk
One wall of the study is clad in vertical timber slats above a pale timber panel, with a floating desk running along it to the window. Opposite, open display shelves are backed in timber veneer with concealed lighting, sitting on low white cabinets that keep clutter out of sight. A black wall lamp and black-framed windows give the pale scheme its punctuation. The door is finished in a dark fluted surface, and a small stone-topped ledge beside it holds a plant.
Bedroom wardrobe and window seat
In the bedroom, a softly textured grey-white wall sits above a pale timber headboard panel. The wardrobe has tinted glass sliding doors in slim black frames, with lit shelves inside, so folded linen stays visible and the glass reflects daylight back into the room. A small side table keeps the proportions light. Under the window, a built-in seat continues the same timber panelling, somewhere to sit or lie down during the day.
In closing
Minimalism is not emptiness. Within 488 sq ft, material and light each have a clear role, everyday storage has its place, and the home settles into a quiet, unhurried rhythm.
